As an activist, Ann Mallen is gathering, supporting, and motivating people during this current democratic crisis.

Early in 2025, Mallen emailed people she’d connected with over the years to share information about standing up for democracy and the rights of all. This morphed into a group called Writers, Artists, Friends. She planned virtual programs with professionals (psychologists, political scientists, and poets), who read their work and gave their thoughts about the moment.

In September of 2025, Mallen started the Substack newsletter called “Staying Power” with interviews, information, links, and encouragement.
